At what point do the many bureaucratic rituals before travel become too much to bear? Visa appointments, documents for procurement of visa - proof of residence, proof of employment, proof of financial soundness, proof of health insurance, proof of vaccination (yellow fever, now plus C19), proof of basic security clearance - certificate of good conduct. And then the possibility of a denial of visa when the above papers are not deemed adequate proof.
